Can you help with the design phase?
Yes. If all you want us to do is help plan and design your project, we will do that for you. We break a renovation down into clear components — layout, structure, finishes, and services — so you can see how the whole project fits together before any building starts.
How do I know where to start?
Start with a site visit. It is always best to resolve structural, roofing, damp or waterproofing problems first, before spending on new kitchens or bathrooms. We assess the property, discuss your goals, and advise on a sensible order of work.
What disruptions can I expect?
Every renovation causes some disruption, and how much depends on the scope of work. We plan each project carefully, protect the areas we are not working in, keep the site tidy, and discuss likely disruptions with you upfront so there are no surprises.
How do I budget for a renovation?
Be realistic about your budget and allow roughly an extra 20% for the unforeseen. Hidden water damage, structural problems, or delays can surface once walls open up, and a contingency means those do not derail the project. Our detailed quotes help you plan accurately.
How long will my renovation take?
It depends entirely on the size and scope of the project. A single bathroom or a maintenance repair may take a couple of weeks, while a full home renovation, extension, or new build runs over several months. You get a completion date in writing before we start, and if anything threatens that date you hear from us the same week — not at handover.
Are prices firm or could there be extra costs?
Our quotes are detailed and the prices in them are firm. Occasionally unexpected costs arise once work is underway — for example hidden damp or structural issues. If that happens we discuss the extra cost with you and get your approval before proceeding.
How do I choose a renovation contractor?
Look at experience, references, and past work. 68 Projects Building Co is an NHBRC registered builder founded in 2019, but our team brings decades of combined construction experience — co-owner Yusuf Boomgaard has worked in the industry for close to 50 years, and Nizaam Saban is a third-generation contractor. Ask any contractor for examples of completed projects and check that the workmanship matches what you want.
