Your Local Mouille Point Bathroom Contractor

Specified for the Position, Not the Showroom

Mouille Point is a narrow strip of apartment blocks facing straight out at the Atlantic, and there is nothing between the buildings and the water. That changes what belongs in a bathroom here. Tapware finishes, shower hardware, mirror backing, extractor grilles, and aluminium window frames all give up years earlier than they would a few streets inland.

So we specify for the position first and the look second — and we say so when a finish you have chosen is not going to hold up. The same applies to the bathroom window: if the perimeter seal has failed, driven spray will find it, and no amount of new tiling inside will fix that.

Why Choose Us

A Bathroom Contractor You Only Have to Phone Once

Most bathroom renovations go wrong in the gaps between trades — the tiler waiting on the plumber, the electrician arriving after the walls are closed. In a building with approved hours, a booked lift, and neighbours above and below, those gaps are expensive. Running the whole job ourselves removes them.

  • One contractor for plumbing, electrical, tiling, joinery, and finishing
  • Local team working across Mouille Point and the Atlantic Seaboard
  • Fittings and finishes specified for direct sea spray, not general coastal exposure
  • Waterproofing detailed to protect the unit below, and quoted in a form trustees can act on
  • Body corporate rules, approved hours, and lift and passage protection handled
  • Written scope and fixed quote before demolition starts

Serving Mouille Point & Beyond

Where We Work

Mouille Point is the most exposed part of our Atlantic Seaboard work. We also renovate bathrooms in Green Point, Three Anchor Bay, Sea Point, Bantry Bay, the V&A Waterfront, and the City Bowl, and we take on bathroom renovations across greater Cape Town.

More Than Bathrooms

Renovating the Rest of the Flat?

Bathrooms are often the start of a bigger project. As a full building contractor in Mouille Point, we also handle kitchens, balcony and facade repairs, ceilings, painting, and building maintenance for owners and body corporates — so one team can carry the whole job.

Bathroom Renovation FAQs for Mouille Point Owners

Sectional title access, waterproofing above the flat below, window perimeter seals, corrosion-resistant fittings, and how to get a quote for your Mouille Point bathroom.

Do you renovate bathrooms throughout Mouille Point?

Yes. We work along the whole strip, from the older low-rise blocks through to the newer buildings facing the promenade, and in neighbouring Green Point, Three Anchor Bay, Sea Point, Bantry Bay, the V&A Waterfront, and the City Bowl.

Can you work in a sectional title building?

Mouille Point is almost entirely sectional title, so this is most of what we do here. We work within body corporate rules and approved working hours, arrange access and lift bookings with the managing agent, and protect lobbies and common passages. We also make the unit-versus-common-property line clear before we start — the stack, the slab, and in many schemes the bathroom window itself sit on that boundary, and it is better established at quote stage than mid-job.

How do you make sure the bathroom does not leak later?

There are two ways a Mouille Point bathroom leaks, and we deal with both. The first is water from the shower and floor finding its way into the flat below — that is solved with correct falls to the outlet, upstands at the shower, a continuous tested membrane, and the right curing time before anything is tiled. The second is driven spray entering around a failed bathroom window perimeter, which is a real problem on this strip and needs the reveal, sill, and sealant detailed for the exposure rather than patched.

Do taps and fittings really corrode faster here?

Yes. This strip takes direct spray rather than salt-laden air, and it shows on exposed tapware finishes, shower hardware, mirror backing, extractor grilles, and aluminium window frames years before it would elsewhere in the city. We advise on finishes that will hold up in the position, and we tell you plainly when something you like is not going to survive it.

What does a bathroom renovation cost in Mouille Point?

Most full bathroom renovations fall between R40,000 and R150,000 depending on size, finishes, and whether the layout changes. Coastal-appropriate tapware and glass hardware sit at the upper end of each band, and we would rather you spend there than replace it in five years. We quote per bathroom after a site visit.

How long does a bathroom renovation take?

A straightforward flat bathroom usually takes three to four weeks on site. Moving plumbing, changing the layout, or waiting on imported tiles and fittings can push that to five or six weeks. Building access rules and approved working hours also affect the programme, and we factor those in rather than discovering them in week one.

Can I stay in the flat during the renovation?

Often yes, though many owners choose not to if it is the only bathroom. We seal off the work area, protect the route in from the lift, and clean up daily. Plumbing isolations are arranged with the caretaker and neighbours are given notice, so the building keeps functioning around the job.

How do I get a quote for my Mouille Point bathroom?

Get in touch to arrange a free site visit. We assess the existing bathroom and its window, check the building's access rules, discuss layout and finishes, and send you a written quote covering the full scope of work.
